Treatments explained. . .

Bowen Technique
This therapy is non invasive and can be performed through light clothing. It does not involve massage or heavy manipulation. Gentle, rolling movements are made over muscle and soft tissue, interspersed with periods of rest, as the body is allowed to process the treatment. Many clients find the simplicity of this therapy very acceptable but at the same time report that it has been extremely effective for all kinds of health related problems.

Safe for all ages, clients need to avoid other therapies whilst having Bowen treatments so that the therapeutic effects can be measured between treatments.

Reflexology
Reflexology is the study and practice of working reflexes in the feet which correspond to parts of the body. With hand and finger techniques reflexology creates relaxation, which in turn helps the body to return to a state of balance or homeostasis. Too much stress can be a threat to the body’s equilibrium and can create disease. Reflexology can help the body return to and maintain a state of balance or equilibrium. Again safe for all ages, clients report that reflexology has been beneficial in helping to treat a variety of physical and emotional disorders.

With her knowledge of Aromatherpy Lynn often uses essential oils in a treatment for added therapeutic benefit.

Aromatherapy
Essential oils are extracted from plants and have their own natural chemical composition. Many modern medicines are based on plant chemistry which is why essential oils have a therapeutic effect when introduced to the human body. Although it is popular to apply essential oils, diluted in massage oil to the skin, there are many other safe ways to enjoy their health benefits. Lynn selects essential oils for each individual at each consultation. How they are applied is discussed with each client. Aromatherapy is one of the most effective antidotes to the stresses of modern living and is useful for many physical and emotional ailments.

Acupuncture
Acupuncture is one of the oldest, most commonly used medical practices in the world. Originating in China more than 2,500 years ago, acupuncture gained attention in this country in the 1970s. It involves the practice of puncturing the skin with needles at certain anatomical points in the body to relieve specific symptoms associated with many diseases. The anatomical points (acupuncture points) are thought to have certain electrical properties, which affect chemical neurotransmitters in the body.
